After eating a mysterious mushroom, apprentice witch Stella turns into a ghost. Now she has to figure out how to return back to normal. But it seems that her time is very limited - if she does not return to her body in time she will stay part of the ghost realm forever.

Witch Upon A Star is a small game created within the span of 72 hours as part of Ludum Dare 51 with the theme "every 10 seconds".

This game was created for fun and to relax between work and DARE. 

​

Narrative

Design:

In order to align with the theme of this Ludum Dare, we created the timed mechanic of having one star disappear from the sky every ten seconds. Once all the stars are gone, the witch is stuck as a ghost and the game is over. 

​

The game is essentially a walking simulator in which you explore the environment, chat to its odd inhabitants and look for the solution to your ghostly plight.

Design

Art:

Witch Upon A Star is the continuation of my current style of creating 2d art placed in a 3d space. The environment and character is a combination of both 2d and 3d assets, with a majority being created for this jam and a few assets from my asset backlog, edited to fit the style of this game. 

​

Overall the environment has a lot of potential but like the design, the game art would benefit from more time.
