Help a little squirrel on its quest to find a nut before winter comes in a choose-your-own adventure story game about the little squirrel on its quest to find a nut because it overslept and forgot to create its harvest stash.

Nut another harvest story is a small game created within the span of 72 hours as part of Ludum Dare 52 with the theme "harvest".

This game was a small fun project meant to humorously step outside the box of harvest games.

Design:
We did not have the entire weekend to work on a game, so we created a small narrative game.
I drafted the story in Twine to continuously test the interactivity and flow of the text and visualise the narrative structure. The game has 4 different branches to explore and 7 unique endings with 5 nuts to collect.
The game itself was created in Unity with a customised version of Yarn Spinner and text animations utilising Text Animator to give the story a lively feel.

Art:
The illustrations of this game are purposefully simple to not only resemble a children's book but also accommodate all narrative branches within the time limitation.
To enliven the scene I used DOTween on the environment and for visual effects.
As an Easter egg and a "progress counter", the player unlocks an animal in the main menu for each completed branch.
